Shakira’s Haircare Brand Isima Secures $5 Million to Fuel Expansion

Shakira-founded haircare brand isima has secured $5 million in working-capital financing, giving the rapidly growing brand additional funding to expand its operations and strengthen its position in the premium haircare market.

The financing was provided by JPalmer Collective, a US-based asset-based lending firm that focuses on high-growth, women-led and natural-products businesses. The agreement was announced on October 1, 2026, as isima continues to build its presence following its 2025 launch.

Founded with Shakira's involvement and shaped by her own experiences with textured hair, isima has positioned itself around the diverse hair needs of the Latin community. Rather than building its range around a single hair type, the brand focuses on products designed for different textures and conditions, with an emphasis on clinically tested formulations.

Its approach combines Latin American ingredients with cosmetic science. The company's proprietary TriModal Method focuses on the scalp, cortex and cuticle, with formulations intended to improve hair strength, hydration and resilience.

The new financing comes at an important stage of the company's growth. Isima initially launched with more than $12 million in funding and secured an exclusive retail rollout through Ulta Beauty, giving it access to one of the largest beauty retail networks in the United States.

The latest investment also highlights a broader shift in the haircare market. Investors are showing increasing interest in brands that combine celebrity visibility with a clearly defined consumer segment and science-led product development.

For isima, the challenge now is converting that attention into sustainable growth. The $5 million facility is expected to support working capital as the company scales its premium personal-care presence and reaches more consumers.

The deal also underscores the growing commercial importance of specialised haircare. Hispanic consumers account for nearly $23 billion in US beauty spending, according to Circana, creating a substantial market for brands designed around hair textures and needs that have historically received less specialised attention from mainstream companies.

With new capital behind it, isima is entering its next phase with a combination of celebrity influence, scientific positioning and a growing retail footprint—an increasingly common formula for ambitious beauty brands looking to move from launch excitement to long-term market presence.
